Kings entered the contest with an overall record of 2-1 with wins against Monroe and Wimington and a loss to Loveland. Last year Mason defeated Kings by a score of 60-41. The Comets would continue their dominance over the Knights with a 47-35 victory. Mason roared out the gates with a 8-0 run to start the game. The 1st quarter ended with Mason holding a 15-6 advantage. Mason defended well in the 2nd quarter allowing only 3 Kings points and a score at the half of Mason 22 and Kings 9. The 2nd half the game saw both teams commit turnovers and violations making for a choppy affair. The Comets were able to maintain a comfortable margin over the Knights and eventually winning by a final score of 47-35. Ethan King led all scorers with 14 points also collecting 8 carooms. JD Sprague finished with 13 points aslo dishing out 3 assists. Brian Carden also grapped 8 rebounds. Mason will take their 4-0 record to Hamilton on Tuesday, Dec. 21st.

The Comets led 21-2 after the first quarter; the Big Blue’s first points didn’t come until 43 seconds remained in the frame, making it 18-2. Mason owned a commanding 29-12 advantage at halftime, converting 10 Big Blue turnovers into 18 points at the offensive end. Hamilton (2-4, 0-3) scored the first four points of the second half, but that was as close as it would get. The Comets’ largest lead was 26 points (54-28). Junior JD Sprague scored a season-high 18 points, including four 3-pointers in the first half, and senior Brian Carden tallied 12 points. Mason (5-0, GMC 2-0) returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 28th when they host Loveland. |

Mason jumped on Loveland early with its pressure defense and put together a 20-point first quarter. Loveland cut the lead to 22-11 early in the second quarter and then the Comets ripped off 11 straight points. Senior forward Ethan King scored six of his 11 points in that stretch to push the Comets lead to 34-11. Miles Ballard snagged seven rebounds to help the Comets outrebound the Tigers 34-18. |

1/4 | SYCAMORE | won | 61-35 | 8-0 | 3-0 | The Comets rolled to another win with a 61-35 defeat of visiting Sycamore on Tuesday, Jan. 4th. Despite five 3-pointers from JD Sprague (16 points), the Comets led the Aviators (4-5, 1-3) by just eight (28-20) at halftime. Senior Miles Ballard then took over, scoring 11 of his 15 points in the third quarter to help Mason build a 20-point advantage. The Comets’ margin of victory in eight games is 18.7 points, with their closest contest a 51-42 win at Lebanon in the season-opener. No other game has been closer than 12 points. With their overall record at 8-0 (3-0 GMC), this is Mason's best start since the 2006-07 campaign when they began 7-0. The Comets will host the defending GMC Champs on Friday, Jan. 7th. |

1/7 | PRINCETON | lost | 62-57 | 8-1 | 3-1 | The Comets sufferred their first loss of the season at the hands of Princeton on Friday, Jan. 7th by a socre of 62-57 in overtime. Princeton came back from a 55-52 deficit in OT on a 10-2 run. Mason had a chance to tie the game at 60, but a Viking steal denied the Comets the upset. Both schools will have another crack at each other when they rematch in the final game of the season on Feb. 18th at Princeton. Ethan King and Miles Ballard had 15 points apiece for Mason, which also got 11 points and 10 rebounds from Brian Carden. JD Sprague dished out eight assists. The Comets face another big game on Tuesday, Jan. 11th when they visit top ranked Lasalle. Ticket availabilty for this contest is limited.

1/11 | @ LaSalle | lost | 68-44 | 8-2 | 3-1 | The Comets faced Cincinnati's #2 ranked team on Wednesday night in the Lasalle Lancers (3rd in the State polls). The Lancers entered the contest with an overall record of 9-1 with their only loss of the season coming at the hands of Dwyer High School (FL). The Comets would not be able to hang another loss on the Lancers this night losing by a final score of 68-44. Mason entered 8-1 overall with a lofty #5 ranking in the City polls. Last season the Lancers defeated the Comets by a score of 53-35. Lasalle got off to a 7-1 start, but the Comets fought all the way back and took a 10-9 lead by the end of the first quarter of play. Early in the 2nd quarter saw both teams taking leads then losing them. The Mason defense sputtered in the last three minutes under Lancer pressure, but still the Comets kept it close and trailed at the half by a score of 27-23. Lasalle started the 2nd half on a 5-0 run building a 18 point lead by the end of the 3rd quarter. In the fourth quarter Mason could not establish any momentum and were not able to reduce the big Lasalle lead. Not many offensive highlights for the Comets. JD Sprague led Mason in scoring with 10. The Comets visit Colerain on Friday, January 14th.

The Comets got off to a slow start falling behind 21-7 early in the contest before battling back and getting within two at the half. Mason held a 8 point advantage in the 2nd half before East tied the game in the final frame. Ethan Kings tray with 7 seconds remaining sent the game to OT. East went on a 8-0 run in the extra quarter and established a lead the Comets could not match. The Comets put three players in double figures: Brian Carden (19 points, 11 boards), King (15 points) and JD Sprague (12 points). |

Mason held a two-point lead as Middletown had the ball out of bounds underneath its own basket with 0.5 seconds remaining in the extra frame, but the in-bounds pass went off a Middletown players’ hands and out of bounds on the sideline to help Mason preserve the win. Mason (10-3, 5-2 GMC) had lost three of its last four games with two of those also coming in overtime. Brian Carden’s team-high 16 points led the Comets. Miles Ballard and Ethan King each totaled 15 points followed by Darin Harris with 13 and JD Sprague with 12. Next up the Comets host Fairfield on Tuesday, Jan. 25th. |

won | 43-33 | 16-5 | Mason met 12-9 Anderson in the post season tourney opener. The Redskins were the #19 seed and knocked off Sycamore to make to the 2nd round. But that's as far as they would go as the Comet ended their season with a 43-33 victory. Mason got off to a slow 1st quarter start and led after the opening frame by a score of 12-9. Anderson took a 13-12 lead at 5:56 in the 2nd quarter. Mason found itself in some early foul trouble. Anderson didn't score another basket the remainder of the quarter, but Mason didn't score much more and led 19-13 at the break. After 3 quarters the sluggish play of the two teams continued with Mason holding a 29-25 advantage to start the 4th. The Comets stretched the lead to 10 points midway through the final quarter. The Redskins got as close as 6 before the time mercifully ran out. Brian Carden's 14 points and Ethan King's 10 led the Comets. Mason's overall record advances to 16-5. Mason will advance to the sectionals finals against Withrow High School (#8 seed) who defeated Harrison to advance. That game will be played at the Cintas Center with a tipoff slated for 6:00 p.m. |

lost | 51-46 | 16-6 | Mason fell to Withrow in the Sectional Finals on Saturday, March 5th by a final score of 51-46. Their season ends with an overall record of 16-6. The Comets raced out to an early 12-0 lead in the contest. Just three minutes, 20 seconds in, the Comets had a 12-0 lead, including two 3-pointers. Withrow turned the game around with their pressure defense. Mason kept the game close despite going almost 12 minutes without a field goal in the second half. JD Sprague led Mason with 12 points and 5 steals. It was the final game for four Mason seniors: Ethan King, Brian Carden, Miles Ballard and Parker Raffel. Congratulations to all the players and coaches on a great year. |

Lakota West twice led by seven points in the first half, but could not stop the Comets surge after halftime.Mason dominated into the fourth quarter and led by as many as 14 points at 45-31 after a basket by freshman guard Jenna Gunn with five minutes to play. But the Firebirds weren’t finished. Lakota West went on a 9-0 run to cut its deficit to five late in the game before the Comets closed it out with a win. Sarah Hunter finished with a game-high 15 points and junior forward Briana Glover added 13 points. Gunn was the third Comet in double figures with 10 points. Saturday’s win broke Mason’s four-game losing streak to Lakota West. The Firebirds now hold a 4-2 lead in the all time series between the Greater Miami Conference foes. Mason will host Withrow on Wednesday, Dec. 8th. |

Saturday’s Lakota East at Mason girls basketball game will now be played at 3:30 p.m. at the Mason Middle School Arena. The game was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. at the high school. The freshman game is at 12:30 p.m., followed by the JV contest at 2 p.m. Varsity tips off at 3:30 p.m. |

Mason and East entered the contest in a four way tie for 2nd place in the league with Sycamore and Colerain. All the teams sported identical GMC records at 7-3. East would go on to post a 42-36 win over Mason. The Comets got off to a quick 9-0 lead in the first quarter, but then didn't score another point unitl Brianna Golver's two free throws with 1 second left. Score at the end of the 1st quarter was Mason 11 East 9. In the second quarter the Comets built a 22-15 lead. In the third quarter East fought all the way back and took a 26-24 lead with 3:05 left. The quarter ended with East ahead 30-26. In the fourth quarter East took a 38-31 lead with 2 minutes left. The Comets were not able overcome the advantage, losing by a final score of 42-36. Mason was led by Kayla Mcdowel's 14 points and 8 rebounds. Next up the Comets visit Princeton on Feb. 2nd. |

Gunn rebounded her own missed shot with 2.1 seconds remaining to give the Kniights only their 2nd loss on the season. Credit Wright State bound senior Sarah Hunter with an assist on the play the helped the Comets win the game. Gunn’s game-winner ended a fierce and physical contest between two of the top 10 teams in Cincinnati. Mason held the Knights to 17 percent shooting in the first half (4-of-23) but led only 16-11 at the break. A pair of free throws b Kings with 1:44 remaining tied the game at 31 and Kings held the ball for a final shot before Hunter and Sydney Neal trapped a Knights player in the corner and stole the ball with 27 seconds remaining, setting up the final shot. Hunters 12 points led Mason in scoring. |

Mason led most to game before a Viking fourth quarter comeback game them a 54-50 win. No. 4 Mason (11-6, 7-5) shot 48.6 percent (18-of-37) from the field, led by junior center Brianna Glover's 5-of-11 on her way to a team-high 14 points. Kayla McDowell finished with 13. Kayla McDowell scored eight points for Mason and Kelsey Mitchell was 2-for-8 from the field in the first half as Princeton trailed at halftime for the first time all season. Sarah Hunter scored seven points in the third quarter to help Mason maintain its five-point lead after three quarters. The Comets rebounded Princeton 35-24, another sign of progress as they prepare for the tournament. Teams will be seeded Sunday at Princeton. Next up the Lady Comets will visit Sycamore on Saturday, Feb. 5th. |

The Lady Comets concluded their regular season schedule with a 58-45 win over Hamilton on Saturday, Feb. 12th. The Comets outscored Big Blue 23-9 in the final quarter to get the win. Kayla McDowell led all scorers with 20 points and 9 carooms. Jenna Gunn added 14 while Sarah Hunter dished out 6 assists. The Lady Comets open sectional tournament play at Lakota East as the No. 6 seed. They will play Mount Notre Dame on Saturday, Feb. 19th at 12:30 PM. |

This will be the teams fourth consecutive appearance in the District Finals to be held Saturday, March 5th at Harrison High School. Mason's opponent will be the Centerville Elks, scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. tip off. Mason led the game most of the way shooting 57% from the field. Sophomore center Kayla McDowell scored a game-high 15 points to lead all scorers. Sydney Neal scored 14 and junior Brianna Glover added 10. The Lady Comets will take a 5-game winning streak into their next contest with an overall record of 16-6.Mason finished 3rd in the Enquirer's Division 1 Coaches Poll this season.

won | 57-41 | 17-6 | LADY COMETS ADVANCE TO THE SWEET SIXTEEN! The Lady Comets faced Centerville in the Southwest Ohio District Finals on Saturday, March 5th at Harrison. Mason was making its's fourth straight appearance in the district championship contest. The Comets would not be denied on this day and went on to a 57-41 win to advance to the OHSAA Sweet Sixteen. The first quarter saw the Mason race out to a 15-7 advantage on solid defense and transition offense. In the 2nd quarter the Comets led by as many as 10 with the quarter ending 26-19 Mason. Mason led by as many as 16 in the third, leading 43-29 going into the fourth. The Elks got the score as close as 8 in the final frame, but the Comets were too much today and won by a final score of 57-41. Brianna Glover had a game-high 15 points and 9 rebounds to lead the Comets. Jenna Gunn scored 14 and Sarah Hunter had 10. Hunter also dished out 7 assists. This is Mason's first district championship since winning the title in the 2008-09 season. The Comes will take their six game winnning streak and advance to the Regional Semi-Finals to be played Tuesday, March 8th at Wright State University's Nutter Center. Mason will play Kettering Fairmont with a tipoff at 6:15 p.m.

Their opponent was Kettering Fairmont the No. 1 seed coming out of Dayton, while Mason was a No. 6 seed. Unfortunately, the young and talented Firebirds would get the best of the Comets winning by a final score of 48-35. The Firebirds entered the contest at 23-1 with their lone loss occuring at Butler. The Comets were making their seventh appearance in the Regional tourney since 1990 with their last visit coming in the 2008-09 season. Mason was attempting to be the first Comet girls basketball team since the 1999-2000 State Champions to play in a Regional Final. The game did not start well for Mason as Fairmont went up 11-0 in the first 4 minutes. By the end of the 1st quarter the Comets had made up some ground and trailed 15-9. With Sarah Hunter on the bench most of the 2nd quarter with foul trouble the Comets fell behind by as much as 15 points. Fairborn led at the half 29-14. The Comets found themselves down by 20 in the third quarter with foul trouble and shooting woes. The quarter ended with Mason down 36-23. The Comets showed some life and got as close as 8 in the final period. But the Fairmont lead was too deep and the Lady Comets season came to an end. Brianna Glover led the Comets with 11 points. Freshman newcomer, Brooke Middleton won the vault and placed 3rd on floor and 6th in the all around. Also making a huge contribution to the team was senior, Olivia Bergesen who scored for the Comets on every event, including placing top 7 on each event (2nd on bars and all around). Junior Jenna Bovenzi also scored for the Comets on 3 events, including a 4th place on floor and 5th place in the all around. Sophomore Anna Taylor won 2nd place on beam and gave a strong performance on floor as well. |
1/8 | CCD Indian Cup | 2nd Place | COMETS PLACE 2ND AT INDIAN CUP The Mason Gymnastics team came in 2nd place at the Indian Cup Invitational by the narrowest margin possible in gymnastics! The Centerville Elks scored a 134.00 beating Mason with a 133.975 by .025! The Comets performed well on floor and especially bars, but were unsteady on the balance beam where they had to count 2 falls towards their team score. The coaches and team were disappointed with the loss, but were also motivated to perform more to their potential in the future. “We were a bit off today and made several mistakes. The girls need to step it up and be more focused so they can execute more solid routines”, said coaches Kelly Wones and Denise DeLotell. |

1/15 | Mason Comet Cup | 1st place | Brooke Middleton-Mason | The Mason Gymnastics team retained their Comet Cup champion title for the 3rd year running this weekend at the Mason Community Center’s new gymnasium. Mason entered 2 teams into the competition; “Mason Green” was the winning team and its 2nd team, Mason Black, placed 5th. Winning the meet in the all around for the Comets was Mason freshman, Brooke Middleton. “Brooke had a great meet today,” stated coaches Kelly Wones and Denise DeLotell. “She hit 4 for 4 and is becoming more and more consistent at every meet.” Brooke placed on all 4 events for the Comets and scored a 35.00. That gives her the 5th highest all around record in Mason Gymnastics history. Brooke also placed 2nd on vault, 8th on bars, 2nd on beam and 8th on floor. Also having an excellent meet and scoring for Mason Green were: senior Olivia Bergesen (scoring on all four events) winning 10th place on bars, 4th place on floor, and 6th place in the all around; sophomore Anna Taylor (scoring on 3 events), placing 3rd on beam and 7th in the all around; and senior Lauren Brune and junior Jenna Bovenzi, who each scored twice for the team. Brune placed 9th on beam, her first time ever competing the event, and Bovenzi placed 6th on bars, 10th on floor, and 8th in the all around. Placing for Mason Black were juniors Lauren Robertson (9th vault, 4th beam) and Rachel Hawthorne (6th beam). It was Senior recognition day for the Comets, who honored their four seniors, Alex Perez, Libby Evans, Lauren Brune, and Olivia Bergesen. Mason’s next competition is Sunday, January 23rd at the Centerville Elk Invitational, where they once again will enter 2 teams. The Comets will compete against Alter, Badin, Beavercreek, Centerville, Fairfield, Hamilton, Miamisburg, Northmont, Seven Hills, and Troy. |
1/23 | Centerville Elk Invite | 1st place | MHS Gymnastics won the Centerville Elk Invitational on Sunday, Jan. 23rd for the 2nd year in a row with steady performances by each of its 6 starting gymnasts. Freshman Brooke Middleton led the pack scoring for the Comets on all 4 events and placing 7th in the all around competition. Seniors Alex Perez and Olivia Bergesen both scored on 3 events for the team. Perez turned in a steady and aggressive beam routine for the Comets, while Bergesen led the Mason team on floor for the 3rd meet in a row. Contributing on 2 events for Mason were juniors Jenna Bovenzi and Lauren Robertson, as well as sophomore Anna Taylor. Bovenzi, a strong and consistent bar worker has scored for the team on bars at every meet, as has Robertson on her specialty, the balance beam and Taylor on the floor exercise. “Mason’s success so far this season is attributed to the depth of its team”, said coaches Kelly Wones and Denise DeLotell. “These girls work all together to contribute to the team score. It’s not just 1 or 2 girls that stand out way above the rest.” Next up the Comets will participate in a Quad meet at Seven Hills on January 2th. |

1/29 | Lakota East Invite | Masons’ gymnasts defended their Lakota East Invitational title this past Saturday against 16 other teams to improve their record to 4-1. The team defeated rival 2nd place Northmont by almost a point and a half. Junior Jenna Bovenzi was the only team member to score for the Comets on all 4 events, while junior Lauren Robertson, sophomore Anna Taylor, and freshman Brooke Middleton contributed 3 event scores to the team’s final tally. Also adding to the team score were senior Olivia Bergesen (2 events) and sophomore Maggie Fewell (1 event), who successfully debuted a new bar routine with 2 new skills. Robertson had an excellent meet, scoring almost a perfect score on her front handspring vault (an 8.525 out of an 8.6). The meets’ judges chose Robertson’s vault as “the most dynamic routine of the meet”. Robertson also turned in her highest score ever on floor, as well as performing a consistent and rock solid beam routine. Bovenzi, a strong and consistent competitor for the Lady Comets, earned her best vault score ever. Bergesen, for the 4th meet in a row, was the team leader on floor. Middleton took 1st place in the vault competition with the 2nd highest vault score in Mason Gymnastics history (9.2) and was the only all arounder in the top 10 for the Comets (9th). Mason is in action at 2 quad meets before their next invitational, the Cincinnati city championships in Fairfield on Feb. 19th. Mason will be at the Centerville Quad on Feb. 10th. |

2/10 | Centerville Quad | 1st place | The Mason High School Gymnastics team competed in a 6 team meet Thursday, February 10th at Centerville High School. The Comets took 1st place by a very narrow margin over 2nd place Centerville and 3rd place Northmont. Only two tenths of a point separated 3rd place from 1st. Junior Jenna Bovenzi was the highest placing all arounder (3rd) for the team and added to the final team score on all four events. Senior Olivia Bergesen scored on three events for the Comets, while the rest of the team score was comprised of performances from senior Olivia Bergesen (3 events) and Alex Perez (2 events), junior Lauren Robertson (2 events), sophomore Maggie Fewell (2 events), and freshmen Brooke Middleton (2 events) and Alisha Patil (1 event). Up next for the Lady Comets are the Cincinnati City Championships, Saturday, February 19th at Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy. Mason will be defending its title as reigning city champions for two years running. |

2/19 | City Championships @ Fairfield | 1st place | Comet Gymnasts 3-peat! as Cincinnati City Champs! The Mason HS Gymnastics team won its 3rd straight city championship Saturday evening at Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy in Fairfield. The Comets blew away their old team school record of 137.425 by winning the meet with 139.075 points over 2nd place Lakota East (135.725). The team also set new vault and beam scoring records and freshman, Brooke Middleton is now the school record holder on the vault, beating out Holly Esler’s old record of 9.25 with a 9.325. Middleton placed 2nd on vault. The Comets placed 4 gymnasts in the top 10 on vault and beam and 3 each on bars, floor, and the all-around, demonstrating the depth of the team. The highest all-around scorer for the Comets was senior, Olivia Bergesen who placed 5th with a 35.025, a personal best. Also having an incredible meet for the Comets was sophomore Anna Taylor who set personal bests on vault, bars, beam, and all around. Taylor also had the highest beam and floor scores for the Comets. Contributing scores to the new school record were seniors Bergesen (4 events), and Alex Perez (1 event), juniors Jenna Bovenzi (3 events) and Lauren Robertson (2 events), sophomore Taylor (3 events), and freshman Middleton (3 events). The Comets are in action next Saturday, Feb. 26th at Lakota East for the district meet where the top 2 teams in the southwest OH district qualify for the state tournament and the top 6 on each event will qualify. |

Mason Gymnastics made history this week by being the 1st gymnastics team in school history to win the southwest Ohio district and become DISTRICT CHAMPIONS!! Mason scored its 2nd highest team score in history (2nd only to last week’s record breaking score) to beat out 15 other teams in the Dayton and Cincinnati area and qualify to the state meet next weekend at Hilliard Bradley. The Comets won by a large margin of over 1 point to 2nd place Centerville. Freshman Brooke Middleton is District Champ on the vault where she scored a 9.15 to qualify to state in that event! Also qualifying to state are: Senior Olivia Bergesen (vault), Junior Lauren Robertson (beam), and Sophomore Anna Taylor (beam). Alternates to the state competition include junior Jenna Bovenzi (all-around) and Anna Taylor (floor). Bovenzi had a personal best in the all-around and narrowly missed qualifying to state by placing in a tie for 6th place, but losing out on the tie breaker. Mason’s team score (137.525) was comprised of scores from all 7 of its starters showing the great depth of the team and the importance of each team member. The starting line-up for the Lady Comets included seniors Bergesen and Alex Perez, juniors Bovenzi and Robertson, sophomores Taylor and Maggie Fewell and freshman Middleton. The Comets finish its regular season 7-1. The state team competition will be held Friday, March 4th and the individual competition will be Saturday, March 5th. |

2/12 | GMC Championships | 1st place | Wrestlers Win Big at GMC Championships The Comet Wrestling team repeated as GMC Champions on Saturday, February 12th at Oak Hills. Mason ran away from the field to score 227 points to West’s 143.5. Fairfield was third with 137.5 points, while Lakota East (130) and Middletown (83) rounded out the top five. Mason had four wrestlers named to the All-Conference team by virtue of their first place finishes. They included Ruben Victoria (103), Brian Luria (112), Jacob Mescher (145), and Eoin Walden (152). Five Comet wrestlers earned 2nd Team All-GMC honors; Jeremy Artrip (119), Jorge Gonzales (125), Aaron Walden (160), Jake Suess (171), and Erich Myers (285). The Comets begin preparations for next weekends sectional championships. Wrestling will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Moeller High School on Saturday, Feb. 19th. RECORD BREAKING WEEKEND FOR COMET WRESTLERS This Friday, when the Comets go into District Tournament action, the entire Mason wrestling team will be able to step on the mat. For the first time in school history, the entire Comet lineup qualified for Districts! Mason and Lakewood St. Edwards are the only Ohio Division I wrestling teams to send all 14 wrestlers to the next level! Six Mason wrestlers competed in the championship finals, with four Comets claiming individual titles. Moeller and Mason matched up eight times in the tournament and split victories. Mason won four of the six championship matchups. Junior Daniele Tedoldi's had a 7-3 comeback win at 215 pounds against top-seeded Moeller freshman Chalmer Frueauaf to claim his 1st tournament championship ever. Below is a complete lineup of the Mason indvidual placers who will advance in the postseason competition: Mason will compete at the District Tournament at Fairfield High School Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25th and 26th. For the second consecutive season the Mason Wrestling team has qualified six Comets to the State Championships. The accomplishment ties their program record set last year. The top three teams at the District Tourmanment were once again Moeller (187.5), Elder (146.5) and Mason (137.5). Ruben Victoria (103) and Jacob Mescher (145) earned District titles and will advance to state. The top four finishers in each weight class advance to the State Championships. Mason's other qualifers were Brian Luria, 2nd place (112), Jorge Gonzalez 4th place (125), Kyle McIntyre 4th place (140), and Aaron Walden 3rd place (160). 3/4-3/5 | STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS | tied for 17th | Mason Sends Three Wrestlers to the State Podium In three days, of some of the toughest competition in the country, Mason set a school record for state placers! In past year state tournament action the best the Comets had ever done was place two at state. Yet, with the conclusion of the 74th OHSAA State Championship, that number became three. Junior Ruben Victoria led the way with a great tournament run winning two matches in the last seconds to place 3rd. He just missed a shot at the finals by one point. Senior Brian Luria and Aaron Walden end great prep careers with wins in their final matches to both place 7th in the State. The girls fought hard to defeat a very good Mercy team. They were led by Emily Harrison's 358, finishing in 4th place overall. Next highest was Lexie Benjamin's 330, 10th place overall. This terrific day put him second on the all tournament team. Another bowler worthy of note was Andrew McDonald who shot a 612 three game series. |
