24-25 ACADEMIC QUIZ TEAM

The Mason High School Academic Quiz Team has been honored as this week’s El Caporal Team of the Week!

The Greater Miami Conference Academic Quiz teams gathered at Hamilton High School to test their academic skills in a tournament setting with rapid-fire questions and answers. The Mason Comets won the tournament, with Lakota West finishing in a close second place. It is only when these young people come together that the true magnitude of AQT's popularity becomes evident. The Comets are 8-time GMC Champions and have won the GMC 4 straight seasons.

As the regular season champion, the Mason Comets qualified for the Ohio regional tournament. Additionally, the GMC tournament qualifies another team for regionals.

Mason Academic Quizzing is a club sport and is coached by English teacher Thurman Allen.  They are one of 9 winter sports teams that contribute to the GMC All Sports Trophy competition.
