Mike Reid Named 2018 OTCA Tennis Coach of the Year!

In special ceremonies, in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday night, Mason Head Tennis Coach Mike Reid was recognized with a very special honor.  The Ohio Tennis Coaches Association named Reid their 2018 OTCA and National Federation of State HS Associations Girls Coach of the Year.  Below are highlights of Coach Reid’s coaching career.

The Reid Resume
Mike Reid began coaching high school tennis in 1988 at Helix High School in San Diego, CA.  Reid became the Mason High School Girls head tennis coach in the 2011 season.  He has led the Comet Girls program to 5 Greater Miami Conference titles (2013, 15, 16,17, 18).  Under Reid’s tenure, Mason has won two consecutive OTCA Girls Tennis State Championships for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.  Reid was named the GMC and City Coach of the Year in both those campaigns. 

In 2015, Reid was also named the Mason Boy’s Head Coach.  His teams have won GMC titles in 2017 and 2018.  Under Reid’s leadership, Mason boys tennis won an Ohio Tennis Coaches Association State title in 2018.  Reid was the 2017 and 2018 GMC Coach of the Year, in addition to being named the Cincinnati COY.  

Reid has been a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association since 1994 and worked in the mortgage industry since 1993.  Mike resides in Mason with his wife Anne-Marie.  They have 5 children, Christine, Sean, Nicole, Kelly, and Danielle.
