Wednesday Mason defeated Lakota East 46-21 in an important GMC meeting. But the contest was more than just another league win. The girls helped their leader reach a personal achievement that few can boast, as Comet head coach Rob Matula attained his 300th overall career victory.

Matula, who has been at the Mason girls helm since the 2005 season, has an overall record of 300 wins and 153 losses. His Mason overall record now stands at 224-70. Highlights during 13 campaigns under Matula's leadership include: 1 FAVC title, 2 GMC titles, 9 Sectional titles, 6 District championships, 1 Regional title and OHSAA State runner-up in 2015-16. During his tenure Rob has won multiple coaching honors that include league coach of the year, Southwest Coach of the Year, and Greater Cincinnati Coach of the Year.

Congratulations Coach Matula!
