Tennis Trio State Bound!
Three Mason Tennis Players Are State Qualifiers!
The Mason doubles team of junior Miguel Cepeda and sophomore Luke Tsai won the district doubles title for the second straight year, beating Jackson and Wyatt Heinz of Bellbrook, 6-4, 6-3, in the final. Cepeda and Tsai were state runner-ups last year and will be striving for a state title next weekend.
Mason sophomore, Alexander Lebedev, lost 6-4, 6-4 in the morning singles semifinals to eventual district champhion Zach Mueck of Lakota East. Lebedev then fell to Wilmington senior Marc Sodini 6-7 (5), 6-0, 7-5 in the third place match. The top four placers will advance to state.
First rounds for State begin on Friday, May 25th and conclude on Saturday, May 26th at the OSU Varsity Tennis facility in Columbus.
