Katelyn is a senior on the 2021 Mason Girls Track Team Katelyn is a hurdler who is also a 4-year letter winner in Track & Field and cheerleader.  Katelyn has had a remarkable senior year helping her team win the League and District titles the last two weeks. Katelyn’s positive attitude and great work ethic have provided our team with great energy throughout the entire season. She qualified for her first-ever Regional Championship in 3 different events: 100m Hurdles, 300m Hurdles, & the 4 x 100m Relay. Mason High School Athletics Featured Teams, Girls Track

This week’s El Caporal Mason Team of the Week is the Mason Girls Track and Field Team Mason Girls is having another strong season after missing 2020 due to the pandemic.  They garnered 7 first-place finishes to open the season at the Warrior Invite and finished no lower than 4th in any event.  The ladies earned 1st place finishes as a team at the Coaches Classic. Anderson, Mason, and Centerville Invites.   The team will be seeking their 11th league title this Friday. Mason is coached by Tony Affatato

Erica is a senior on the 2021 Mason Girls Track & Field Team Erica Fennimore leads both in the classroom and on the track.  Her season is off to a great start having run personal bests in the 800, 1600, and 3200 already this spring.  Her work ethic, coachability, and willingness to do whatever is asked of her makes her an outstanding teammate and role model for her fellow athletes. Erica’s dedication to her studies has given her the opportunity to pursue a degree in public health at The University of North Carolina next year.
