Gymnanstic Team Defends Cup Title
Mason High School’s gymnastics team reclaimed its Indian Cup title this Saturday at the Cincinnati Country Day Invitational by nearly a point and a half over 2nd place team Thomas Worthington from Columbus.
Senior, Jenna Bovenzi made her season debut scoring on all four events for the Comets with one of her career best performances. Sophomore newcomer Audrey Harpen and freshman Kylin Agin scored for the Comets on bars, while senior Lauren Robertson placed 4th on beam, contributing to the Comets team score on 3 events.
Senior Amythest Gauthier was the Comets leading score contributor as runner up on floor, and 3rd place finisher on bars and in the All Around. Senior Lindsay Woehrmyer’s recent efforts paid off with a solid beam routine, giving the Comets their 2nd highest score on that event. Junior Maggie Fewell contributed scores on all 3 of her events, vault, bars, and floor.
The Comets had an overall solid performance for this early in the season; they compete next weekend, January 14th at their home meet.
