Kahari is a senior on the Mason Fall Cheerleading Team Kahari is the definition of spirit. He is always leading the team with his energy. Not only is he advanced in his cheerleading skills he is a great student academically. We can always count on Kahari to be prepared to lead our team on Friday nights and to make us smile at the same time. The coaches are happy to recognize Kahari as the Athlete of the Week.
Mia is a senior on the Mason Girls Soccer Team Mia has had an incredible last month of her senior season. She has conceded only 1 goal since September 19th and has earned or shared in shutouts in 9 of the last 10 matches we have played. She is currently tied for the lead in the conference with 8 solo shutouts.
Lauren is a senior on the Mason Girls Volleyball TeamLauren has been a solid defensive player for the past 3 years for the varsity volleyball team earning 1st GMC honors. She had an excellent defensive performance on her last game of her career with 23 digs. Lauren wraps up her career as a Comet with 593 digs.
Jacob is a senior on the Mason Boys Soccer TeamJacob came up huge for his Comets at Monday nights Sectional Final. With the score knotted at 0-0 late into the final minutes of a match against Colerain, Jacob put the team on his back, as he’s done all season. This varsity standout took on a pass close to mid-field and raced down the field, beating two defenders and then powered a kick past the Cardinal goalie for the only score of the game. This week’s El Caporal Mason Team of the Week is the Mason Football Team The gridiron Comets put together another strong season in 2020. Even in the uncertainty of playing in a global pandemic, the players and coaches battled their way to a 5-3 overall record and 4-2 mark in the GMC. Highlights of the season included starting the season 4-0 and a postseason win over Lebanon. Mason also earned key wins this season over GMC opponents Lakota East, Oak Hills, and Sycamore. Isaac is a sophomore on the Mason Boys CC Team Isaac has been our top runner at our recent meets. He just earned first-team all-conference honors finishing 4th in the GMC Championships.Isaac just ran his way on to Mason’s all-time top ten list with a time of 15:48. Isaac is a top student as well as a good leader on the team.
Manuela is a senior on the Mason Girls Cross Country Team Manuela has had a tremendous season! She has trained as hard as anyone we’ve ever had on the team. She has been running 50-mile weeks for the last 5 weeks in a row and has been pushing the pace every day. She is fully committed to the cause and is a great leader both emotionally and as a runner on the course. We are very proud of her efforts and she was instrumental in our first GMC win in 3 years.

This year they were able to get back to their winning ways and did so in an impressive fashion. The team had six girls on First team All-GMC including several in the top seven of the race. The 2020 season has been different, but as far as results, there have been no changes in the outstanding accomplishments of this program. They have been 3rd at the Moeller Invite, 2nd at Loveland, 2nd at Mason Invite, 1st at Milford, 3rd at Eastern, and Woodridge Invite. Michael is a senior on the Mason Football Team Michael is making significant contributions to the Comet Football team this season. He plays both offense and defense for Mason, along with special teams. His listed positions are wide receiver and defensive back. His continued leadership will be needed for the Comets to make a deep run in the upcoming OHSAA Playoffs.
