The ten-member schools of the Greater Miami Conference (GMC) compete in twenty-four sports. In each sport 11 points are awarded for a conference championship, 9 for runner-up, 8 for third, etc. The points are tallied at the end of the spring season and the school with the highest total gains possession of the traveling trophy. The league recognition has been annually awarded since the conference was founded beginning with the 1966-67 school year.
In the 2018-19 school year, Boys and Girls Lacrosse will be added to the stable of GMC sports. The Greater Miami Conference is year-in-year-out considered one of the best high school conferences in the state and country.
