Josh Kline Captures State Title!!

In front of a large crowd of Mason faithful that made the trip north to the state capital on Saturday night, Mason senior Josh Kline claimed the second state wrestling championship in the history of Mason High School.
Facing Sandusky High Schools Delonne Baker, Josh controlled the match from the get go when he took Baker down to the mat for the first time just 1:17 into the first period. Soon after, with 1:12 remaining in the second period, Kline pinned Baker to win his first ever Ohio High School Athletic Association State Championship in the 285lb. weight class.
Josh advanced to the championship match by defeating Clayton Northmont’s Matt Prichard 6-4 in overtime.
A state qualifier a year ago, Kline becomes only the second Mason wrestler to ever capture a state championship, Zach Marshall won the 2005 heavyweight title for the Comets and now Josh’s picture will hang along side Zach’s in the wrestling room at Mason High School as a symbol of dedication, hard work, and perseverance.
