GIRLS LACROSSE SMASHES WEST AND ADVANCES!

Girls Lacrosse continued it's run in the OHSAA State Tournament last Friday by taking on another GMC rival Lakota West last Friday. The Firebirds grabbed the opening draw and quickly put one in the net.  Your Comets down by a goal came right back to match it and then never looked back. Mason controlled the contest with strong play at every end of the field taking a 10-2 lead into halftime. Much of the same in the second half with Mason resting starters, continued its dominance to finish it up, 19-3.
Mason shooting an outstanding 73%, had 9 players finding the back of the net. Defensively we only allowed West a total of 9 shots, six of which were turned back by another great effort by goalkeeper, Bee Kuehn.
Next up for your Comet Girls is round 3 OHSAA Regional Semi-Final at Mount Notre Dame (#1 seed) TODAY, Monday 5/21 at 4:45 PM. The winner will play either Loveland or Sycamore on Thursday, May 24th for a Regional title and trip to state.
