Boys and Girls Cross Country
This Weeks El Caporal Mason Team of the Week is the Comet Boys and Girl Cross Country Programs. These outstanding athletes continue to dominate the local Cross Country scene year in and year out.

This season the boys team won their third consecutive Greater Miami Conference title and have won 7 league titles in the past 8 years. They won their 10th consecutive District Title, 4th overall Division 1 Regional Title and 11th consecutive trip to state as a team.

The Comet Girls CC team has dominated the league since 2010 winning their 8th consecutive GMC title this season. They continued their District domination winning their 9th consecutive District CC Championship in come-from-behind flare.

The boys team is coached by Tom Rapp and the girls coached by Chip Dobson.



Girls Varsity Soccer
This weeks El Caporal Mason Team of the Week is the Comet Girls Varsity Soccer Team. The Mason girls soccer program continues to be considered one of the toughest teams in southwest Ohio. The Comets are the 2nd ranked team in the city and have won 6 of their last 7 games. The girls will be playing for a possible GMC title at Fairfield on the last game of the regular season. The Comets are 5-0-2 in the GMC and 9-2-3 overall. Mason is coached by Andrew Schur.



Mason Girls Varsity Volleyball
This weeks El Caporal Mason Team of the Week is the Comet Girls Varsity Volleyball Team. The Comets are enjoying a special season this year. They are undefeated in the GMC at 7-0 and 14-2 overall. As a team they have won 40 games and lost just 7. They have won 12 matches with out losing a game this season. The team is focused on winning their programs 2nd consecutive league championship and 4th GMC title in the past 5 years with wins in their final two GMC matches. Mason is coached by Tiann Myer who recently earned her 300th career victory.



Boys Varsity Soccer
This weeks El Caporal Mason Team of the Week is the Comet Boys Varsity Soccer Team. Mason continues to be one of the top ranked teams in the city year after year. The Comets have a 6-3-1 overall record and undefeated at 4-0 in the GMC. The team earned a big 3-2 GMC win over contender Lakota West on Sept. 12th. They earned a 1-1 tie against always tough St. Ignatius. With 5 games to go in league play the GMC title is still up for grabs between 3-4 teams. Mason is coached by Paul Reedy.



Varsity Green Girls Tennis
This weeks El Caporal Mason Team of the Week is the Comet Girls Varsity Green Tennis Team. Mason is a tennis powerhouse in the city and state once again this fall. The Comets are currently the #1 ranked team in the city and #2 in the state Division 1 polls. They have won 10 consecutive matches during which they won 47 games to the opponents 3 wins.



Girls Varsity Golf
This weeks El Caporal Mason Team of the Week is the Comet Girls Varsity Golf Team. The ladies are playing well in early season action on the links. They have won 5 consecutive dual matches against East, Springboro, Hamilton, West and Fairfield. The squad finished 4th at the Sycamore Invite and 6th at Pickerington. The girls team is coached by Chad Layton.



Boys and Girls Track and Field
This weeks El Caporal Mason Teams of the Week is the Comet Boys and Girls Track and Field Teams. Mason continues to be the class of the GMC with both squads repeating as GMC Champions for the 10th consecutive year. Mason has won these titles each season since entering the conference in 2007-08. The Comet track and field athletes will be pursuing District, Regional and State Championships in the coming days! The boys team is coached by Chip Dobson and Girls by Tony Affatato.



Mason Varsity Softball
This weeks El Caporal Team of the Week is the Mason Varsity Softball Team. With only one week remaining in the 2017 regular season, the Comets find themselves all alone at the top of the GMC with a perfect 13-0 league record. This past week they cemented their position as the best in the conference with a big 8-1 win over Lakota East. Mason has a 16-3 overall record with 8 games remaining before tourney time. The Comets are the #2 ranked team in the city and #9 in the state polls. The team is coached by Liann Muff.



Varsity Baseball Team
This weeks El Caporal Team of the Week is the Mason Varsity Baseball Team. The Comets are enjoying a solid season so far with an overall record of 11-4 and 7-4 in the GMC. The GMC is a tight race this season with many teams in the hunt for a title including our Comets. With 1/3 of the season remaining Mason is only two games off the league pace with some important games still remaining. A big highlight this season was the Comets defeating always tough Moeller 7-5 in the season opener. Mason is currently the #2 ranked team in the city. They are coached by Curt Bly.



Competition Cheerleading Team
This weeks El Caporal Team of the Week is the Mason Competition Cheerleading Team. It has been a wonderful season for these talented and hardworking Comet athletes. They have recently qualified for the upcoming State Championships to be held at Ohio State's St. John Arena on March 5th. The team has won first place finishes and were crowned Grand Champions at the GMCE Holiday Cheerfest, Darby Spirit Cheer Series, Memorial Cheer and Cheer Max at Great Wolf. Congratulations and good luck ladies at State! Mason is coached by Mandy Schauer.



Girls Bowling Team
This weeks El Caporal Team of the Week is the Mason Girls Bowling Team. The wins haven't been plentiful for the Comet girls this season, but the team is young, with no seniors, and they are gaining improvement with each match. Mason has secured wins against Amelia and Harrison this winter and are hopeful for more success in the upcoming postseason tournament. Mason is coached by Connie Smith.



Mason Wrestling
This weeks El Caporal Team of the Week is the Mason Wrestling Team. The Comets under, new head coach Ryan Root, are experiencing another outstanding season on the mats. So far this season the team has wrestled outstandingly at every event. They crushed Moeller in a dual meet then went on to win the Dvorak Invite over break. They recently went undefeated at the West Virginia Duals improving their record to 15-0 in head-to-head matches. The Comets, ranked #2 in the city, will look to defend and add another GMC title later this season.
