Root Named To Lead Mason Wrestling Program

Ryan Root

The Mason Athletic Department has chosen Ryan Root as the next head coach of the Comet Wrestling Program, pending school board approval. Root succeeds former long time coach Craig Murnan, who recently announced his decision to retire from coaching after an illustrious 14-year career. Ryan brings a wealth of experience to the Comets, both as a former athlete and coach. As a competitor, Root was a standout, 4-time high school state placer and All-American at Lakota High School (class of 1995). Additionally, he was a 3X Greco-Roman and Freestyle State Champion and senior National Finalist.

Nicole Bagby Breaks City Record

Overall, this was an entire team effort with outstanding performances across the board. One new Mason School Record, City Record, and Centerville Record was set on Friday night in the Pole Vault.
